Arjan won't be on any Dubai bucket list. What it will do is put you in a modern apartment for noticeably less than almost anywhere closer to the coast, right next to two of the city's most photographed gardens.
If your trip is more about a comfortable base than a postcard address, it's worth a serious look.
What Arjan Is Actually Like
Arjan is a newer residential community in Dubailand, built up quickly over the past several years around mid-rise apartment buildings. It has a practical, still-developing feel — fewer parks and retail than the more established communities, but genuinely modern buildings and noticeably lower prices. Its biggest asset is location: it sits directly next to Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Butterfly Garden, two of the most-visited attractions in the city.
Where to Stay Within Arjan
Short-term rental supply has grown quickly here, mostly in newer mid-rise towers built in the last few years. Buildings along the main roads bordering Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road cut driving time to the rest of the city; those deeper in the community trade a few extra minutes for lower rates.
Getting Around from Arjan
Arjan has no metro station of its own, so a car or regular taxi/Careem use is the practical default. Dubai Miracle Garden is walkable or a two-minute drive; Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina are roughly 15–20 minutes by car, and Downtown around 25 minutes. It sits close to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, so cross-city trips are straightforward despite the lack of rail access.
What's Nearby
Dubai Miracle Garden — the world's largest natural flower garden, seasonal (roughly November to May) — is the headline draw, a short walk or drive away. Dubai Butterfly Garden sits right next to it. Beyond those two, Arjan itself is light on things to do, so plan on driving out for restaurants, malls, and evening plans.
The Honest Caveats
No metro means budgeting for taxis or a car for most of your stay. Arjan is still filling in — expect ongoing construction in parts of the community, and fewer dining options on your doorstep than in more established areas. If walkability and an evening scene matter, Dubai Marina or JVC will suit you better.
Who Should Stay in Arjan
Arjan suits budget-conscious travellers who want a modern apartment for less, and anyone specifically timing a trip around Dubai Miracle Garden's flowering season. It's less right for guests wanting nightlife, walkable dining, or metro access — for that, JVC, a short drive away, is the better-connected alternative.
